Not A Morning Person? Here Are Some Fruitful Tips For You

The Tiring and tough routine has made us lazy and “not a morning person at all”. We can put blame on all the technologies and hectic routines. But the fact is we had made ourselves badly addicted to all of these unhealthy activities. A little will power can make you ever young, energetic and productive person.
Well! By adopting few simple and healthy activities we can make our morning and whole day active and productive. All we need is some focus and stimulation from the mind. Here are some tips to adopt on daily basis for a productive and healthy routine.

3 or 4 glass water.

Yes! Right after getting out of bed one must drink enough water. It is just like washing each and every organ of the body. This is also a fact that it is difficult to drink this much water at once. Don’t start it immediately from the very first day. Keep adding gradually and initially starts with 1 glass. There are endless benefits of this activity. Fresh skin, clean liver, healthy stomach, boost metabolism, and what not. Start it right away and give your body the best gift.

Yoga or Exercise.

I personally prefer exercising but yoga is also very soothing activity. After drinking water just do some half-hour exercise and you are definitely going to love it. It will not only boost your mind but also give it peace. Cardio is a good option but those who spend 9 to 6 in office must do exercise for belly fat.

Don’t skip breakfast.

Your breakfast must contain eggs, whole wheat, and fresh juices. Skipping or less breakfast can lead to a stomach ulcer first and later many other problems. There is no cool fact in skipping breakfast. This is the first meal of your day and can give you full energy for the whole day.

No load of Thinking.

Keep your brainstorming activity in some other slot of the day. This is a very wrong perception that we must do brainstorming right after getting up. If you already exhaust your mind at the first step of the day you won’t be able to manage thing in the whole day. Ultimately, you will get tired very early.

Coffee is better than tea.

Tea contains milk that can increase fatness in the body and slow down the process of other activities of the body. Use black coffee it will stimulate the brain and let it work effectively. It will also enhance metabolism.
Make your first step of the day a bit different and productive. Don’t go for mainstream lazy activities. Your change can also bring change in other life.

Healthcare Revolution in Pakistan

Healthcare is a leading industry in Pakistan instead of being called as service. Since long time, no such policy was introduced by the government until 2010. Taking an initiative by then Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Shahbaz Shareef, Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) was formed.

The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC)

PHC is an autonomous health regulatory body established under the PHC Act 2010. The PHC aims to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare service delivery for all Public and Private Healthcare Establishments (HCEs) including Allopaths, Homeopaths and Tibbs in the province of Punjab.

The PHC is responsible for developing and enforcing Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) at all levels of healthcare, to improve the quality of healthcare services and foster a culture of Clinical Governance. All Healthcare Establishments are required to implement MSDS to acquire a License to deliver healthcare services in Punjab.

Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS)

The MSDS define a set of the benchmarks for minimum level of mandatory services that a Healthcare Establishment (HCE) is responsible to do and patients have a right to expect. It entails a package of yardsticks essential for all types and Categories of the Healthcare Establishments and encompasses all the disciplines of healthcare and focuses on ensuring Quality Healthcare Services.

The standards prescribed in the MSDS cover the following functional areas for assuring quality healthcare services delivery:

Access, Assessment and Continuity of Care (AAC)
Care of Patients (COP)
Management of Medication (MOM)
Patient Rights and Education (PRE)
Hospital Infection Control (HIC)
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
Responsibilities of Management (ROM)
Facility Management and Safety (FMS)
Human Resource Management (HRM)
Information Management System (IMS)
Healthcare Information Management System (HIMS)

HIMs is an information management system applied to automate healthcare establishments (HCE). It is the practice of acquiring, analyzing and protecting digital and traditional medical information vital to providing quality patient care. With the widespread computerization of health records, traditional (paper-based) records are being replaced with electronic health records (EHRs). The tools of health informatics and health information technology are continually improving to bring greater efficiency to information management in the health care sector.

HIMS Initiative In Pakistan

With the increasing pressure from global organizations, including USAID and WHO, about the accuracy of healthcare data in Pakistan, Softech Systems Private Limited (a renowned and leading software solutions developing company in Pakistan) has been given a mandate by Government of Punjab (GoP) to automate healthcare establishments in Punjab.

Softech Systems’ HIMS

Developed under the years of collaboration between top healthcare professionals and software development experts at Softech Systems, HealthConnect has become widely accepted Healthcare Information Management System and hospital management solution across the country due to its flexibility, scalability and quality user experience.

HealthConnect caters for the full life-cycle of the processes in a modern hospital, incorporating comprehensive work flows for complex processes of a healthcare facility including patient registration, queue management, OPD, IPD, medical record management, pharmacy, blood bank, Waste management, Radiology, pathology and other departments of a hospital.

HIMS Deployment in Punjab

In the year 2016, Government of Punjab decided to implement HIMS in public sector healthcare establishments across Punjab with fully integrated end-to-end solution. In this regard, Softech Systems won the tender in open bidding and started deploying their in-house developed HIMS named as HealthConnect. Softech System has the mandate to deploy HIMS in 35 public healthcare establishments across the province including 15 THQs and 20 DHQs. By now in 2018, this HIMS has been successfully deployed in 25 hospitals out which 8 are THQs and 17 are DHQs.

However, GOP initiative is not the only HIMS deployment that Softech has done. Kulsoom International Hospital ( KIH ) Islamabad was the pilot project and has been a great success. Softech’s HIMS solution is also live at first ever Hepatitis Prevention and Treatment Clinic (HPTC) of Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute and Research Center Lahore ( PKLI ).

Softech Systems’ HIMS is a comprehensive suite of application modules for the healthcare industry, packaged to meet the needs of different segments in the industry. Standard product offerings are available for hospitals, small to mid- sized clinics and medical laboratories.

Changing Trends in Healthcare Marketing

Healthcare Marketing is continuously evolving. A shift in healthcare marketing strategy is required for the sustained growth and evolution of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. The question however that one is confronted with is – what will be the role of healthcare marketing in the future?

Reforms in the healthcare domain won’t be repealed. A lot of adjustments to the legality changes would continue for the many years to come, but an overall revamp of the healthcare reforms is yet to happen. This is the time when majority of the patient populace and families have some or the other form of health insurance. Marketing has a wide role to play in today’s environment than ever before.

In the modern age of consumerism, patients have control over their health information i.e. the patient, not the doctor or the hospital; have control over individual patient health information data. This underlines the fact that marketing would play a significant role in the life of healthcare organization beyond the traditional means of communication activities.

Marketing of healthcare organizations is not much different from what happens with other organizations. Marketing healthcare organization employs strategies which are in sync with standards practiced across all domains. Newer avenues such as social media, online medical and healthcare marketing will continue to earn revenue and will slowly emerge as dominant players in the healthcare segment. In fact, these alternative means of advertisement will be more integrated, value driven and further strengthen brand value.

The New Role of Healthcare Marketing

Leadership in Marketing

Marketing deals with the essentials of strategy first followed by marketing tactics. Marketing is the means of putting forward the voice of the customers and should not be just a second thought. Every future campaign and program must be market driven and not just a gut feeling. In order to be a leading marketing organization one must possess the skills associated with building an effective customer- driven or market- driven organization.

Management of Patient Experience

Hospitals mostly make the mistake of putting their operations in charge of patient experience. The discharge process itself takes 3 to 4 hours. It would be ridiculous to expect them to manage patient experience along with their previous task. Patient experience implies a thorough understanding of what a patient experiences throughout all touch points.

Patient experience requires integration across an organization both internally and externally.

The Dynamics of Demand Management

Marketing needs to take into consideration the demand of healthcare services. The demand would need to be managed. This would make sure that the hospital or the healthcare system has the right resources, in the right place, at the right time to fulfill the demand.

Having Revenue Accountability

Return on Investment (ROI) is extremely important for any marketing practice irrespective of the means i.e. traditionally, socially or online. Marketers need to generate revenue and not consume resources. Marketing should have both Profit and Loss (P&L) statistics as well as a track of Selling, General and Administrative Expenses (SG&A) for all the services being offered by a healthcare organization.

Managing the change

One of the most controversial approaches to managing the marketing role is to look inwards within an organization. Those individuals that look internally at their organizations may not have the necessary skills, training or abilities to bring about a change in the strategies of an organization. Managing the change would require people with skills and understanding keeping in mind the complete functioning of the organization.

The future of healthcare management is filled with challenges and opportunities. It is time for a proactive change to take place rather than a reactive one. Time quickly passes by and you don’t want to be left behind.

Revenue Cycle Management’s Importance in Healthcare

The Healthcare industry transition from fee-for-service to value-based care reimbursement impacts the traditional RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) in different ways. Every healthcare organization or an individual veteran practitioner needs to be financially balanced or strong to deliver their uninterrupted services. This is a time where best healthcare RCM service comes in.

Revenue Cycle Management in healthcare is the financial process that facilitates the control of complex administrative processes and clinical functions such as patient eligibility, claims processing, reimbursement, denied claims management, and revenue generation.

RCM is the backbone of healthcare organizations that helps them to pay their bills, manage their resources and much more. According to international standards report, in medical billing, more than 25% of claims have been rejected and up to 40% of those claims are never re-submitted i.e. the healthcare organizations suffer from major revenue loss.

On the bright side, with proper RCM process, the healthcare sector can get greatest benefits with minimum bad debt write-offs. To understand the exact phenomenon of healthcare revenue cycle management, first, you have to understand its basics in the medical billing process.

Basics of Healthcare RCM:

It starts from the appointment of a patient to seek any medical assistance and completes when the health organizations collect their payments.
At the beginning, the health group administrative staff manage an array of processes like scheduling, insurance eligibility verification and creation of patient’s account.
“From the perspective of Revenue Cycle Management, immaculate submission of patient information at the time of patient scheduling and registration improve the cash flow of the healthcare organization.”
After the patient’s treatment, the process of claims submission begins. An advanced coder submits the claims with right ICD-10 codes, the codes define the value of reimbursement and an approved code prevent claims denials.
Then comes the important part of private or government payer for payment. They evaluate the claim values, verify the details i.e. insurance coverage, contracts, etc. and process for reimbursement.
Most claims are denied due to improper coding, incomplete patient accounts, patient chart errors, etc.
Then comes the last outcome of revenue cycle management i.e. maximum claims reimbursement. RCM helps the healthcare organizations to get paid maximum claims reimbursement on time with fewer denials.
After that, the healthcare groups or the individual veterans perform the AR Follow up in which they create Healthcare claims i.e. manually or automatically and sends them to various Insurance companies.
In the final stage i.e. Payment Posting, the medical billing management software records every patient’s payment with accurate information including patient’s name, account number, denial info, service dates, etc. for future reference.
Importance in Healthcare:

It can help the healthcare organizations to track the exact performance of their financial growth. They can easily determine the claims approval and denial rates via proper RCM process. With immaculate RCM process, the healthcare organizations managed their medical billing process effectively and fixed their claim denial issues quickly.

Here are some key benefits of effective RCM:

Fewer denied claims
Improved patient care
Higher Reimbursements
Immaculate administrative records i.e. no other penalties or fees
Faster Turnaround time for claims payments
